The Bible is vital for every Christian. Jesus Christ shows us by example that the scripture is our guide even when we are in the hardest trials and temptations. He said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Mat 4:4). We are to seek the truth and the answers we need to live our lives within the scriptures.
However, the Bible is a formidable amount of material, collected and maintained for thousands of years. It requires diligence, humility, academic disciplines, and most importantly God’s Holy Spirit. For this reason and others, God calls teachers in every period of human history so that His message can be conveyed successfully to those with ears to hear.
